I've been asked a few times about why my website is called one soul yoga.
It's a short story really. One of the first meditation practices that really resonated with me, that has been carried through my practice since I started my journey, is using the mantra 'soham'.
Soham represents literally translates to 'I am That'. We are all one connected conciousness. One soul - connected. So there you have it a very short story!
If you'd like to try the practice, find yourself a comfortable seated position, spine long, shoulders away from the ears. S
low the breath down and close the eyes. Focus your drishti (gaze) with the eyes closed to your third eye, the space between your eyebrows.
The practice is guided with the breathe and goes as follows - repeat mentally 'so' on the inhalation and 'ham' on the exhalation.
If you're not comfortable with the sanskrit and would like to try - use 'I am' on the inhalation and 'That' on the exhalation. Maybe use a timer, maybe just see how long you can focus - don't force anything, just let thoughts come and go and bring your awareness back to those words and your breath. Be present with yourself and show yourself kindness.
Namaste
